Dalet, a world leader in enterprise Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions for broadcasters, is pleased to announce its collaboration with Nexidia, the leading provider of dialogue search and audio analysis technology for the media and entertainment industries. Nexidia’s award-winning dialogue search quickly and accurately finds any word or phrase spoken in recorded media, speeding production, reducing logging and transcription costs, and discovering hidden value in the largest media libraries. Working hand-in-hand with Dalet’s Enterprise Media Asset Management solutions, Nexidia’s dialogue search will allow editors, journalists, producers, archivists, and others to search and retrieve assets that traditional metadata searches would likely miss.

“Integrating Nexidia dialogue search into our ecosystem gives Dalet users innovative new ways to find the content they need amidst massive amounts of audio and video material,” says Raoul Cospen. “Because Nexidia ships as a module, Dalet users will be able to easily add dialogue search to their existing system, expanding traditional search capabilities without disturbing operations, and with virtually no user training.”

Closely integrated with Dalet’s systems, Nexidia’s patented technology:

  • Searches hundreds of thousands of hours of media in just seconds
  • Finds any word or phrase, including slang, brand and proper names
  • Is highly tolerant of spelling errors, individual accents and poor audio quality
  • Works in conjunction with standard metadata search
  • Supports Multiple languages and dialects, including US, UK and Australian English, European French, European and Latin American Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch and Modern Standard Arabic

“The value of your assets is limited to your ability to quickly and easily find what you need,” adds Drew Lanham, SVP/General Manager of Media for Nexidia. “Case studies have shown that dialogue search returns 10-100 times as many relevant results as standard metadata alone. Since Dalet’s customers manage many of the largest media libraries in the world, dialogue search will clearly help them to get more value from their assets.”

Dalet, a leading developer of enterprise Media Asset Management (MAM) solutions, and Axia Audio, the networked-audio division of Telos Systems, are showcasing the new Axia Livewire integration with the enterprise Dalet Radio Suite solution at NAB 2011. This new integration lets Dalet Radio Suite users send studio-grade audio directly to Axia AoIP networks via their network interface cards, completely bypassing the need for PC soundcards.

“Axia is a leading provider of Audio over IP technology and it is important for Dalet and Dalet customers that we qualify and integrate Axia within our Radio technology,” says Raoul Cospen, Director of Marketing, Dalet. “By leveraging the Axia technology, we are able to simplify Dalet Radio Suite deployments and infrastructure and give our customers a high-quality audio over IP alternative for their operations.”

The first mutual client to combine Dalet Radio Suite with Axia Livewire networking is Minnesota Public Radio, one of the largest and most respected public broadcasters in the US, headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota.

“Minnesota Public Radio is excited to be taking advantage of the flexibility of multicast IP audio and routing with our play-to-air broadcast systems, by using Dalet’s integration with Axia’s Livewire network,” says Doug Rowe, MPR’s Manager of Media Production Systems. “We’re pleased to be a part of Axia and Dalet’s Livewire partnership.”

The partnership between Dalet and Axia underscores the industry’s growing demand for networked audio, according to Axia President Michael “Catfish” Dosch.

“Axia clients realize that the value of the network comes not from the network itself, but from the variety of devices the network can connect to. Now, Dalet Radio Suite users can easily interface with Axia networks.”

Dalet today announced that Fjölmiðlavaktin, a leading Icelandic media monitoring group, chose DaletPlus Activelog to manage the audio feeds of its broadcast monitoring business.

Fjölmiðlavaktin monitors Icelandic newscasts, news-related programs, and talk shows. DaletPlus ActiveLog enables Fjölmiðlavaktin to record, store, and manage in digital form simultaneous audio recordings from the various programs it monitors. The system was implemented in partnership with Pfaff-Borgarljós, a local Dalet business partner.

”Dalet brought us an industrial-strength solution with a tremendous track record. Further, they understand our business,” said Mrs. Elma Atladottir, Broadcast Media Supervisor, Fjölmiðlavaktin. “With their experience, we have the confidence to move our business to an all digital platform.”

”The DaletPlus Activelog solution excels on two fronts here. First you have a phenomenal media asset management infrastructure for organizing your media – whether it be audio, video or stills. And second, you have a user environment that mimics analog devices and enables a very smooth transition for non-technical users,” said Mr. Michael Schueller, General Manager, Dalet Germany. “The combination is an incredible value-proposition for any organization doing mass media management and recordings.”

Ideal for facilitating transcription services, DaletPlus ActiveLog puts easy-to-use tools at the fingertips of Fjölmiðlavaktin personnel. From their desktop system, users can transcribe material while a recording is in progress or once it’s finalized. They can easily step through programs–expertly managing and increasing the accuracy of their transcriptions.
